Craniofacial Treatments
Treatment for the various pain disorders that affect the head and neck are dependent upon many factors related to, the influences on, and diagnosed causes of the problem. Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation of the patient. The diagnosis of orofacial pain relies heavily on the patient’s history and exam, combined with laboratory tests and radiological imaging studies. Following diagnosis, treatment plans may include oral appliance therapy, pharmacotherapy, trigger point injections, nerve blocks, physical therapy, acupuncture, biofeedback – relaxation therapy, psychological and behavioral pain management, and lifestyle modification.
