Dr. Harold Gelb

Harold Gelb, DMD

Dr. Harold Gelb graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University College of Dental Medicine. He is a past president of the American Equilbration Society and the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. His articles on TMJ Disorders have appeared in virtually every recognized dental journal including The Journal of Craniomandibular Practice.

Michael Gelb

Michael L. Gelb, DDS, MS

Dr. Michael L. Gelb of New York is an innovator in sleep apnea, painful TMJ disorders, and other head and neck pain disorders. Dr. Gelb has studied breathing related sleep disorders (BRSD), specializing in how they relate to fatigue, focus, pain, and the effects all of these can have on a person’s life. Dr. Gelb, 50, received his D.D.S. degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1982 and his M.S. degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He is the former Director of the TMJ and Orofacial Pain Program at the NYU College of Dentistry and is also Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine and Pathology at the NYU College of Dentistry, Division of Basic Science. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tufts University in Boston. He was awarded Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain in 1995. Dr. Gelb is a co-inventor of the NORAD, or Nocturnal Oral Airway Dilator appliance that reduces snoring by positioning the patient’s tongue and jaw so that airways stay open. He has also updated the Gelb or MORA appliance, named after his father and has 3 patents pending for sleep and pain management.

Drs Harold and Michael Gelb function as oral orthopedists and architects of the jaws. They serve as consultants to physicians, osteopaths, chiropractors and dentists in alleviating head and neck pain and helping to balance the head, neck and spine.

Dr. Jason Wallman

Jason Wallman, DPT, LAc., MS, Dipl.Ac. is a doctor of physical therapy.

Jason H. Wallman, DPT, L.Ac., M.S., Dipl.Ac. earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1995. Dr. Wallman then earned his Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the New York College for Wholistic Health, Education and Research in 2000. Most recently, he earned his Clinical Doctorate in physical therapy from Stony Brook University in January 2007. Dr. Wallman is dually licensed in New York State to practice both physical therapy and acupuncture, and was awarded diplomat status in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2000.

Having had a practice at the Gelb Center for the past two years, Dr. Wallman has developed a unique specialty in Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ dysfunction) as well as related acute and chronic craniofacial pain conditions. He has combined this knowledge with his focus on orthopedic and sports rehabilitation and injury prevention. His treatments combine a western medical background in physical therapy and nutrition, with an eastern medical expertise in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. This background of education and clinical experience makes Dr. Wallman a unique, highly skilled and highly specialized practitioner.

Dr. Wallman is currently an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program in Oriental Medicine at Touro College in Manhattan, New York. His classes include orthopedic and neurological assessment, surface anatomy, and trigger point acupuncture.

Dr. Lenchner

Michael Lenchner, DMD

Dr. Michael Lenchner graduated from Boston University School of Dentistry, 1985. Completed a Post-Doctoral Program in Advanced Educational Program in Prosthodontics, New York University College of Dentistry 1987.

Dr. Lenchner is an expert in full mouth reconstruction focusing on occlusion esthetics and implant restorative work. For the past 12 years, Dr. Lenchner is a founding director of The New York Dental Forum, an elite continuing education program where he educates over 100 dentists in the metropolitan area on the latest concepts treatment planning and advanced dental techniques and materials.

Dr. Robert M. Schulman

Robert M. Schulman, DMD, FACP

Dr. Robert Schulman is a Board Certified Prosthodontist and Director of the Post-doctoral Specialty Program in Prosthodontics at the New York Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In 1998, Dr. Schulman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he was recognized for clinical achievement in Implantology and Prosthodontics. The following year Dr. Schulman continued his training by completing a General Practice Residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. In 2002, Dr. Schulman received his Post-doctoral Specialty Certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Schulman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, member of the Northeastern Gnathological Society, American Dental Association, New York County Dental Society, and Ninth District Dental Association Dr. Schulman often lectures to his peers in the field of dentistry focusing on full-mouth rehabilitation, implants, and cosmetic techniques.

Dr. Schulman maintains private practices in New York City and White Plains, NY. His practice is limited to advanced restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Schulman is actively involved in clinical implant and dental ceramic research, and has extensive restorative experience with multiple dental implant systems.
